Art cannot save anybody from anything.

Gilbert Sorrentino
About This Quote

Art cannot save anybody from anything. Words are powerful. They can take us to places we’ve never been before, make us laugh, cry, feel like we’re back in school again. But words alone can’t save us from anything.

That’s why I love art; it reminds me that words don’t work that way. Words can hurt and they can help but they can’t save anyone. Art is like a reminder that even though words themselves cannot save anyone, art can help us find the beauty in the words of others so that we no longer feel alone or vulnerable.
